Sautéed Apple for Kapha

You will need:

  • 1 apple, any sweet variety
  • 1 clove
  • 1 pinch crushed cardamom
  • 1 tiny stick Chinese cinnamon
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp minced fresh ginger root
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ghee (clarfied butter)
  • Dash of honey (optional)

Core and quarter apple and cut into thin slices.

Heat the ghee in a pan. When clear, add the spices and stir briefly to release aroma.

Add apple and sauté briskly for 3-4 minutes.

Turn off heat, stir in the lemon juice and serve warm, topped with a dash of honey if desired. Discard whole spices when eating.
